Rangjung Yeshe Institute
Located in Boudhanath, Kathmandu, Nepal. RYI is celebrating a decade of full time teaching in Buddhist philosophy, and Tibetan, Sanskrit and Nepali languages. The courses combine traditional and modern approaches and the classes are particularly wonderful because they are held in a Tibetan monastery. It's a perfect setting in which to earn a BA and a Masters, or to study for short duration intervals. Visiting students are welcomed, or people can choose to study abroad. The RYI summer intensives are very rewarding. Website has information about donating to the school, entrance requirements, a photo gallery and an academic calendar.

Tergar Institute
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche established this institute for people to study classic Buddhism, to meditate under supervision, and to learn to be fluent in Tibetan. It is auspiciously situated at the Tergar Monastery in Bodhgaya, India, next to where the original Buddha became enlightened. It is also the location of the annual Kagyu Monlam. This major ceremony concludes just as the Terger sessions begin. Programs focus on combining philosophy and practice, with the aim of helping students turn theory into everyday experience. Website features schedules, information on the relevant Buddhist lineages, and a biography on Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche.
